I have been writing both Rust Language and The Elixir programming language this week for different projects. Both web apps. It's been a very interesting back and forth. I appreciate many characteristics of each language. If it's on me, I'd definitely choose Elixir/Phoenix/Liveview for web apps though.

In light of the Shipfast debacle, let's turn this into a teachable moment and talk about the concept of being "secure by default", including how it's handled in Phoenix. 🧵 #MyElixirStatus

Phoenix LiveView 1.0.0 is finally here! Check the announcement for details phoenixframework.org/blog/phoenix-l… If you haven't given Elixir/Phoenix a try, you can now get started in seconds by installing Elixir and generating a Phoenix project from a single command:

I'm extremely excited for this release... - New type system checks - Lots of improved error messages - New built-in `JSON` module - `Enum.product_by/2` and `Enum.sum_by/2` - `List.ends_with?/2` - Synchronous test groups - Good riddance to `unless`! 😄 #MyElixirStatus

I’ve been working on a full demo app to teach Phoenix LiveView concepts: auth, forms, data modeling, navigation, sprinkles of JS, and a bit of extra security. It’ll be a series and will take some time to produce, so here’s a teaser of what we’ll build together! #MyElixirStatus

Daniel Bergholz Inertia.js Nice! Just, are changes reactive? Can you update props in LV and handle events correctly? I'm using Inertia-inspired workflow with LiveVue and I love it. It's just a LiveView under the hood, but renders Vue component instead of HEEX.

I honestly wish Phoenix authors more focused on 1. Getting first class JS support with Vite(why not? its really cool with HMR) 2. Embracing frameworks Laravel is doing this and it works really well

I'm definitely getting on this Tidewave hype train (wrong metaphor SMH) If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out tidewave.ai. Anyway, it's so easy to set it up in a Phoenix app elixirdrops.net/d/GBHvQwrC

Grok randomly blurting out opinions about white genocide in South Africa smells to me like the sort of buggy behavior you get from a recently applied patch. I sure hope it isn't. It would be really bad if widely used AIs got editorialized on the fly by those who controlled them.

If you're a global The Elixir programming language dev open to a new gig and are free this weekend, Jump is doing a paid challenge where if you can build an Elixir app that meets all requirements in 48 hours, we'll pay $3000 and likely hire you. DM me your LinkedIn if interested!
