I appreciate the criticism that ResearchED underplays its ideology. But the BERA conference is put on by an org that has shown that it's indifferent (at best) to basic questions of integrity and quality. Its problems are on a whole different level.

But I thought these folks were all in favour of evidence.

Motivation or meaning?

Various issues with this TLAC blog (e.g it conveniently overinterprets the science). But mainly 'a culture of loving accountability' is not just a dystopian phrase, it precisely captures the limits of the TLAC worldview. Education understood through crass 80s management speak.

A new article in the issue contains 12 apparently fake references. doi.org/10.1002/rev3.7… It's months since I told BERA they're publishing endless AI slop. Nothing has changed. It appears BERA editors & leaders couldn't care less what they publish. Surely a scandal?
