A cyclist was hit by a person driving a pickup truck this morning. This stretch of road has an unprotected bike lane. We hope they make a full recovery and we intend to continuing to advocate for safe infrastructure so people can get where they need to go safely.

I am convinced the power and anonymity of a cars precipitate and amplify sociopathic behavior. Certainly there are violent, unhinged people using any mode, but these types of interactions seem much rarer and legally actionable in person.

15 years ago, today, we incorporated Lanefab. This was in the midst of the '08/09' financial crisis, and with the hope that in the following 6 months the city would adopt laneway house zoning reforms, thereby creating a whole new housing industry. (they did) Cheers!
