Too much flash, not much substance. Not sure I’d say “much worse” but from a historical sense they are level with where they have always been. Bigger issue is the unrealistic expectations created. I’d argue too many think ‘19-‘20 is the standard, not the exception.

And yet they are still right where they have always been. Preseason A-10 favorites and then underwhelming conference losses leads them to a sneaky at large bid or a middle of the pack conference finish and a loss in Brooklyn.

The worst part is the entitlement of the fanbase and atmosphere without the success. Wishing we could get back to the early 2000s days when fans were invested in every A10 game instead of walking into the building like we earned a 20 point win against the rest of the league.

My buddy created the term "Alex Smith Event Horizon" years ago to describe this but basically any qb sufficiently talented enough to get 50+ starts even if he's bad most of the time will eventually put it all together because at a certain point they've just seen all the shit
