The videos of the first SpaceSec edition at NDSS Symposium are online on Youtube! Relive (most of, some technical problems at the beginning) the keynote by James Pavur and 10 fantastic paper presentations to get inspiration for the upcoming deadlines. youtube.com/playlist?list=…

The day is here! We've arrived at ISAE-SUPAERO in beautiful Toulouse for the 11th OpenSky Symposium. We're looking at our largest programme ever over the next two days, great talks, posters and networking on everything aviation data. #OSN23

Our General Chair Johannes Willbold and our TPC Cochairs Knut Eckstein (European Space Agency) and Ivan Martinovic (University of Oxford) are kicking off a full room for the 2nd edition of SpaceSec. We have an exciting programme of our keynote by Greg Autry🚀 and 12 papers (out of 23 submissions). #spacesec24

Alexander Kedrowitsch from Virginia Tech kicks of our academic program with the first presentation on the hot topic of "Resilient Routing for Low Earth Orbit Mega-Constellation Networks". #spacesec24

Third up at SpaceSec is Josh Smailes from Oxford Comp Sci, who speaks about the opportunities and challenges of using fingerprinting for authentication in satellite communication, in particular about the resilience to jamming. #spacesec24

Our last talk before lunch is by Samuel Jero from Lincoln Laboratory. He is leading with a call to arms for the security community about securing the software stack on satellites. #spacesec24

We're back after lunch with the second session of SpaceSEc 2024! Diogo Barradas (Diogo Barradas) from University of Waterloo is presenting the paper "Website Fingerprinting in Low Earth Orbit Satellite Internet". #spacesec24

Last but not least in our third session is Alexandra Weber from Telespazio Germany. She is presenting the paper "Space-Domain AI Applications need Rigorous Security Risk Analysis". #spacesec24

Syed Khandker from NYU Abu Dhabi presents "COSPAS Search and Rescue Satellite Uplink: A MAC-Based Security Enhancement". #spacesec24

We continue with Jessie Hamill-Stewart (University of Bristol / University of Bath) on "Threats Against Satellite Ground Infrastructure: A retrospective analysis of sophisticated attacks". We can all see that sophisticated attacks against space systems are not theoretical anymore! #spacesec24

Last, but certainly not least, Andrei Costin from University of Jyväskylä presents their work "Towards generic backward-compatible software upgrades for COSPAS-SARSAT EPIRB 406 MHz to support authenticated messaging with PKI digital signatures". Interesting debates! #spacesec24
