Pretty sure this will be in my top 10 (we’re only in April)

“Two Together” by Brendan Wenzel is a truly joyous book about, perspectives, adventures and love. The art is simply stunning with clever use of materials adding to the story-telling

God I’m bored of “cognitive load” being used to justify anything and everything.

It really has lost all value as a term and is just empty air.

Imagine how beautiful and inspiring a school environment could be…then there is this. Soul-destroying ableist mantras that apparently equate as culture and ethos

We all know the “Big Listen” is not really about listening, it’s very much about maintaining the status quo.

The government’s announcement about single word judgements today sums up that there will be no change, no listening and no difference.

“Terrible Horses” by 🦻🏽Raymond Antrobus and Ken Wilson-Max is a fantastic book about a sibling relationship. It wonderfully captures the push and pulls of the relationship and developing empathy for the other person. Brilliantly told in word and art.

This is a readaloud riot…

“Don’t Trust Cats” by Dev Petty and Mike Boldt is just brilliant fun. Chip, our canine narrator, is a joy to listen to and the dogs world view is fantastic. Boldt’s illustration are zany and full of humour. Fab to share with a class

Last saw most of these good people 30 years ago on our PGCE, 5 are still working in schools which can’t be a bad ratio.

What a powerful book this is.

“The Rock in my Throat” by Kao Kalia Yang and Jiemei Lin gives us real insight into a young immigrant’s experience. Based on Kalia’s own story it sings with truth. Text and art combine to create a poignant and important book.

'The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members.'

Don’t know who said it there is a lot of disagreement about that. However it couldn’t be more true than today. We have become the lowest.
