School social workers are dedicated to empowering our next generation of leaders by offering support for the social and emotional needs of students. I am proud to recognize the vital role of these heroes by proclaiming March 7-13, 2021 as School Social Work Week in Kentucky.

March 7-13 is School Social Work Week, a time to celebrate school social workers and spotlight the work they do for students, families, schools + districts all across Kentucky! From all of us at the KY Dept of Education, thank you to every school social worker in the Commonwealth! #KyEd

We consistently search for the best way to boost our download speeds. But there is another way to consider the concept of bandwidth and that has to do with our relationships with other people. This week, we want you to BROADEN YOUR BANDWIDTH.

Let’s feel the earth beneath our feet. Let’s see some water. Let’s stand amongst the trees and look up at the sky.. Getting outdoors matters

Do you remember the first time you jumped into a swimming pool or gave a presentation? That moment makes all the difference, so this week, we want you to GO ALL IN.

We want to encourage you to figure out what you want to build…and, of course, to go build it. Our second ask is to have fun and build without any judgment of the end result. Just go create and celebrate the fact that you did it. Building something matters.

Close your eyes for a moment and take a few deep breaths. Does a place come to mind? . Enjoy the moment for a few minutes, then open your eyes slowly when you are ready. Yes, this week, we want you to DAYDREAM.
