I finally finished the second layer of 6 ounce fiberglass cloth. I used RAKA 127 resin with 350 hardener. I sanded the hull with 80 grit silicon carbide sandpaper. I don’t think you are truly ever done sanding. I think you get to a point when you say “that’s good enough.”

I finished applying fiberglass to the starboard spray rails. This completes the fiberglass wetting on the hull. A little bit of sanding and she will be ready for the universal epoxy primer.

All sanding is completed! I washed the hull outside today with hot water and a scrub pad, rinsing often with a garden hose. I also cleaned all of the dust out of my workspace. The next step is epoxy primer.

2 gallons of TotalProtect epoxy primer by TotalBoat applied in 4 coats. I will let this cure until next weekend. The next step is to sand smooth to prep for paint. I will be using gloss white marine paint from George Kirby Jr. Paint Co. #totalboat #totalprotect

First coat of paint is on! The garage lighting and camera make it look gray, but it’s actually bright white. I am using George Kirby Jr. marine hull & deck paint, in gloss white. Fantastic product! #GeorgeKirbyJrPaintCo #CoronaBrushes

Store leftover paint in lidded sour cream or cottage cheese cups to avoid contaminating the gallon. It keeps the main supply fresh and lets you easily mix leftovers into your next session.
