1of 2 Heather of @plantwisedesign is one of my favorite colleagues! She works out of the Pt. Colborne area. Here she is helping us mulch the #ValFlemingButterflyGarden to keep weeds down and support the soil microbiome.

2of2 It also helps keep moisture in and it just looks amazing! 2” thick is about right. This #compostedmulch comes from Safe Tree Ltd. in the Niagara Region and I’m SUPER-impressed with it!

Woohoo! Our first #MonarchCaterpillar of the year!

#OrangeMintMoth on our #Oenothera gaura. The common name should be Sweet Moth Blossom’,, not #SweetBeeBlossom! In the evening, which seems to be its primary bloom time, it is COVERED in moths!

A couple more great pollinator plants – #MountainMint And #CulversRoot

Look at where nature grows plants. Often quite surprising! #CardinalFlower is definitely shade-tolerant. It is also a great #RainGarden plant.

Horns of the Watusi cattle

Visited a couple of our projects in #WasagaBeach yesterday and I’m quite happy! One is new, last year, and the other is now four years old. You can guess which is which. 😉 Both are on pure sand soil.

I’ve heard the legends but I’ve never actually seen it! #BottleGentian being pollinated by a bumblebee! Check out the way they have to force their way in, and only bumblebees have the strength.
