#agrisagronomy #GLGtour2025 S12 M5X planted April 27 getting close to R7, one brown pod anywhere on main stem dropping leaves fast in dryer weather harvest might only be 2-3 weeks away

#agrisagronomy #glgtour2025 in corn field just outside of Amerstburg some Tar Spot on outside rows has blown in 3 weeks ago , in dent stage yield impact very little, a bit of Gib ear rot starting, good cob size and finish estimate just over 200 bus / acre

#agrisagronomy CHU update May 1st to Sept 11th, approx. 200 behind a year ago. August this year 712 CHU, last year was 744. The deficit really goes all the way back to May, this year 380 CHU last year 564. Cold nights slowed down accumulation.

#agrisagronomy MiField N rates test plot. First cob on left Starter N at 19 Lbs. actual as you move to the right each one increases by 60 Lbs actual up to 300 lbs. It appears kernel depth is greater with increasing N rates up to 180. We will do TKW at harvest time

#agrisagronomy tip kernels are black layered first, shank end will be in a couple of days. Other cobs have pinched shanks that prematurely ended grain fill they are all black layered poor kernel fill you can twist the cob. Tar Spot came in late

#agrisagronomy wheat planted Sept 17 under ideal conditions tried to spread soy straw 40 ft , wind not always cooperating can still see difference in wheat growth with less chaff

#agrisagronomy corn harvest is underway, some of our yield estimates back in August to actual yields today are bit off the mark. Largely due to TKW and kernels/ bus. We used 95k / bus in our estimates, some of those fields are 59K kernels/ bus. Est yield at 198 is now 299.

#agrisagronomy GDD accumulation on wheat tracking slightly behind a year ago . If wheat planted Sept 25 it should have 3 to 4 leaves on main stem. 130 GDD to emerge and 90 GDD for each leaf.

#agrisagronomy our test plot trendline yields on corn over 17 years indicates a 2.5 bus/ acre / year increase. Curious to know have your yields increased by 25 bushels/ acre over last 10 years? ( 2000 data points)
