Our #research on #drought #recovery, now published with Springer Nature in Nature Communications: Drought recovery in plants triggers a cell-state-specific immune activation. Read thread below 👇 doi.org/10.1038/s41467…
🚨 New preprint out led by Thierry Pellegrinetti 👏 “ ‘Candidatus Phytoplasma zeae’: community-driven species delineation of the maize bushy stunt phytoplasma, a Dalbulus-transmitted corn pathogen confined to the Americas” 👉 Read here: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… This work was motivated
The work from my MSc with Silvia Restrepo & in collaboration with Sebastian Schornack is finally out. We used an integrative approach to follow Phytophthora betacei along while infecting tree tomato. This was in my back burner during my Ph.D, and it materialized thanks to @epiplantpath 🥳
Grateful to be honored with the Alstroemeria Award from UCSD BioSciences 🌸. This recognition would not have been possible without the incredible support from so many people behind the scenes, thank you for lifting me up along the way! UC San Diego Salk Institute
UC San Diego biologists have created a transformative new way to monitor genes. The game-changing tool known as RUBY is an inexpensive, easy-to-use technology that allows researchers to visualize genetic changes. go.ucsd.edu/4nEJswk #BehindEveryBreakthrough
.UC San Diego Alumni Fred Ramsdell (’83, UCSD BioSciences) has been awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discoveries that transformed our understanding of the immune system and autoimmune disease. 🏅💙 🔗 bit.ly/4mShf3y #UCSanDiego #NobelPrize
Looking to host a fellow to work on duplicate gene regulation in development & adaptation using single-cell and spatial omics 🌽🌱 Reach out if you have a background in genomics, evolution, or computation and are interested in moving into Plant Biology. simonsfoundation.org/2025/10/13/app…
Our new review in Science Science Magazine is out with jenny russinova and Nemanja Vukašinović. We discuss how precise modulation of brassinosteroid signaling can enable more targeted, predictable improvements in plant growth and resilience. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
Logging back in to share our new pub JXB @jxbotany.bsky.social GLVs change lateral root angles & ethylene is a key determinant of root tortuosity control by GLVs. Receptors seem conserved; parallel growth regulators fine-tune peptide responses. Congrats Rajni Parmar bit.ly/47sJOAq
