Does anyone know where/how to get OEM unlocked phones in Germany? I am looking to switch to CalyxOS but no one seems to sell unlocked pixels. Or more likley my german is so bad that I can't phrase search terms

Thinking about how to build a new project on EKS. I want to use Pulumi its so pretty. Is it ready for prod? HashiCorp, an IBM Company terraform seems like a safer choice but the examples are like 10x longer/harder to follow. Python > HCL but I dont want to get stuck if it doesnt work

Velox, Substrait (substrait.io), and ApacheArrow FlightSQL are some of the most exciting technologies I've encountered in a long time! They will play pivotal roles in the future of both query engines and general data access/compute Mark my words!

For those going through brutal firing rounds right now (looking at you #twitter) I was there and it sucks (#ubs 2012). After the shock (and 🍺) wears off give me a shout, currently looking for #DevOps and #golang developers to join a small and exciting #startup

Interested in dynamically routing queries to different SnowflakeDB warehouses (e.g. by dbt model)? DM me and we'll get you added to the Sundeck private preview.

I've been massively skeptical (or maybe cynical?) of the AI hype machine. However, today I have been using ChatGPT as a junior dev and its pulled its weight on simple, bounded problems. Still not convinced this is as big as the internet but it does have its uses.

Something I've been grappling a lot with the past few days: in the age of ChatGPT how do you say anything meaningful online to get above the noise? How can a blog or essay, no matter how well written, get surfaced and not get immediately ripped off 100s of times?

My worst habit when building products is to confuse what users want with what I think users should want. You want this you just don't know it yet is a pretty arrogant way to engage with users. This has led to several debacles in the past. I try to remind myself of this every day.

When I read that the CEO of a major ai firm wants there to be a license for ai models I can't help but wonder: Is the threat of an AI apocalypse really just a clever anti-competition campaign?

The Walrus has landed at #SnowflakeSummit2023 . Come by our booth at 2022-A (near dbt cloud) to see it in action. There may even be some walrus swag available too.😁

I find myself confused about the 'vibe coding' arguments (both for and against). Its another tool in our toolbox. It has its strengths and weaknesses. Rejecting it completely is folly and using it uncritically is naive...how is that different from any other new tech we have seen

A surprising application I use LLMs for now is creating prompts for it. It is absurdly effective and helps me validate that what I told it is what it heard. Maybe I am late to the party on this but its surprisingly effective.
