The ONE hitting thing I hear the best hitters always talk about is.. How EARLY they want to start Slow and early. Ready and quiet. Early and quiet.

Best hitter on the planet going high tee with level shoulders and almost flat path? You bet. High tee drill forces hitter to take hands straight to ball ✅ Too many fly out “almost a bomb” can of corn hitting coaches who never leave their cage to watch their clients fly out in

This is what an elite championship approach feels like. Be more mentally exhausted than physically tired. Get the work in. Interesting that even though the Dodgers are labeled as a data driven team Doc doesn't even hint at that. You need an elite mind set

Check out this two strike homerun 🔥 Jace Laviolette - One of the best bats in college baseball • Great example of ‘turning high on the high pitch’ • In 2024, he hit .305 with 29 HR

Juan Soto talking about being short to the ball & on top of the ball to get that back spin & not top spin or knuckle balls. Down through the baseball with good extension & your head on the baseball creates solid contact & consistency. Great example right here!

Juan Soto! Hunting for backspin & working the other way. When you can drive the ball with backspin the other way pulling the baseball correctly comes easily. It allows you to have success in the game! Soto & Bonds. 2 of the best ever both practiced similarly. Not a coincidence.

Royce Lewis talking about the high tee drill & his hopes to generate backspin. Low line drives through the middle off practice = Driving the ball in the games! The best hitters that I have been around think about having short, direct, flat swings that are simple & repeatable.

Dylan Crews Cage Work & High Tee. Great stuff here that all young players could take some nuggets from. Love the best players coming out and telling the world what they truly do in the cage. Short, flat, quick swings play at every level in the world! ✅ Hitters University

Shohei staying on a 4 degree fastball the other way for a home run. The circles represent where he gets on plane and exists. Soooo good and he makes it look really easy…which it is NOT!

Due to popular demand, here’s the legend Barry L Bonds. You can see he drops under pitch plane by 2/3 ball, then stays flat out in front. This creates backspin and minimizes topspin out in front. The “miss” here will be fly ball vs a topspin grounder. He contacts between 2 circles.

Jackson Merrill dropping some nuggets. Not trying to hit the ball too hard. Easy swings and get the barrel to the ball. Accuracy focus. Chasing numbers in the cage leads to higher effort, which is the opposite of this. Not trying to do too much. Less=more.

A topic we discuss in detail at my camps is how your first move after you load your mitt is crucial for getting more strikes. Ideally we want our mitt moving toward the strike zone during the reception. Bailey shows us how it’s done! (Cont.)

Most hitters don’t struggle because their swing isn’t ‘perfect’ They struggle because they:👇🏼 • Take strikes, chase balls • Obsess over things they can’t control • Have an approach—but not fully committing to it Elite hitters? 🔥 They hunt, believe + simplify.

Juan Soto is a rare hitter who uses two different batting stances -- one for 2 strikes, one for less than 2 strikes. I talked to Soto about how he developed his stances and his 2-strike approach, which goes all the way back to Rookie ball. Story ➡️ atmlb.com/4idr3TK
