Our exhibition on the Royal Warwickshire Regiment & D Day will close on 19th September so there is still time to explore its fascinating stories - the officer who blew up a tank; a daring escape in occupied Caen; and a football competition played by the frontline. #dday #Warwick

As part of the 350th anniversary commemoration of the founding of the regiment, we are working with The Solihull Creative Textile Group, to make an embroidery in the tradition of those in the collection. Anne & Deborah are currently working on its layout. #regiment #embroidery

These brown breeches belonging to WW1 soldier Private L. Wormington, were originally tartan. They were dyed to fit in with the soldier’s khaki kit. Such improvisation was common in WW1. They will feature in a new exhibition opening 1st October. #ww1 #uniforms #exhibition

Museum volunteer Gill has made this child-size replica of a regimental uniform from 1744 for the dressing up area. We are lucky to have talented volunteers like Gill who is part of a great team supporting the museum’s mission to be engaging for all. #volunteer #warwick #family

A photo of the Budbrooke barracks this time from 1903. Seated centre is Commander in Chief Col. Quayle Jones. Seated on his knee the ultimate lap dog - a dachshund. This was presumably a personal pet rather than unofficial mascot! #dachshunds #budbrooke #barracks
