Norway drills the North Sea & gets richer. Britain bans drilling, taxes the industry to death, sacks 1,000 workers a month, then buys the same oil & gas from Norway. Same seabed. Same reservoirs. It’s the dumbest act of economic self-harm imaginable. archive.is/olBvb

Happy new year all. Portfolio ended 2025 +9.8%.📈 In my first retirement year I have moved quite a lot into cash and will deploy in any dips. Maybe when in a few few years I might be more adventurous but at the moment I am being very cautious. CAGR 6.6% over the last 14 years.

A bombshell new report from the Institute of Economic Affairs has blown the lid off the green lobby's attempt to cover up of the true cost of Net Zero. Talk about 'climate misinformation'! The truth that it will bankrupt the country is finally emerging, says Paul Homewood.

An energy minister who has no idea what he’s talking about. His price comparison is so ridiculous it’s hard to know where to start. But we can begin with this: the price he quotes for gas is a massive exaggeration to suit his renewables narrative.

Why are our democratic processes unable to stop this lunatic? He’s paying twice the market rate for unreliable power. It makes no sense and yet no one seems able to stop him.

It’s time we talked about local government pensions. Almost no one in the private sector benefits from these gold plated schemes – which are mostly funded by the taxpayer.

“Let’s ban new oil and gas drilling in the North Sea but pay Norway £40 billion to import oil and gas from the North Sea. Let’s plaster solar panels on thousands of acres of farmland but have sun dimming experiments in a country that has the fifth least sun hours on the planet.”

With Iran's IRGC closing the Strait of Hormuz, it's a good thing that here in the UK we can rely on our North Sea oil. Thank God we didn't elect a bunch of idiots who mothballed the offshore platforms for no good reason.... Oh wait. #LabourUK

These MPs & MSPs are deluded. They favour foreign imports over UK production… Support jobs abroad rather than jobs at home… Want investment to go overseas, not to the North Sea… Are happy to use imports with higher carbon emissions, rather than cleaner home supplies. Mad.
