For decades, polls showed Dems had a double-digit edge on the party who looked out for/was the party of the middle class. Polls now show the GOP/Trump have totally eliminated that gap. This comes as the GOP maintains a ~10 pt lead on the economy, after 4 months of Trump.

Sounds like a guy much more interested in his own career trajectory than helping New Yorkers.

Always watch the trend lines… Candidates with late momentum in primaries, which lack the partisan anchors of general elections, usually end up in good shape.

Two nat’l takeaways from NYC: 1) AOC cemented as de-facto leader of DEM Party. 2) Rising costs still shows up as top issue in every poll. It killed Biden/Harris, and Mamdani centered his campaign on that issue (successfully). Voters across party lines are sick of waiting.
