Why introduce more housing in a desirable neighborhood in a good location that you currently must purchase a mansion to live in? So that regular people can live there.

The problem is not zoning in existing urban areas? There are subway stations in Toronto where you can't build a *small* apartment building and bus stops with towers.

One of Toronto's weirdest brainworms is expecting that there wouldn't be bike Lanes or congestion in places that have a literal Subway under the ground

If you've not got a ticket yet Canadian Civil Alive (which is pretty amazing) has only a few left - if you want to be able to come I reccomend pulling the trigger today, ideally in the next few hours! eventbrite.ca/e/canadian-civโ€ฆ

Land is in great supply, the issue is high rises (while great) are expensive to build! A rational person would say, why don't we try building other dense structures? There are all kinds of other higher density formats which we have generally not zoned for.

Construction != Affordable housing IF you are constructing enough to keep pace with growth. Vancouver and Toronto have had lots of construction (in a few places) but far more growth. It's pretty basic math and ratios.

100% should be a condition of the massive amount of development which will only increase pressure on the rapid transit. But I actually think it should be done by Oxford as opposed to the TTC who is not very effective at building good stuff these days

If Ontario wants to expand the capacity of the Highway 401 corridor - extending the Sheppard subway as a regional express subway with new tunnels and elevated guideways would create both more capacity, faster travel times, and for far less than even a few more lanes would cost.

And this doesn't have to just be a Toronto project! You'd also expect it to extend to Pickering, Pearson, Brampton, Mississauga City Centre and Oakville.

Torontos greatest feature is unironically the ability to get a pretty good meal from almost any cuisine, and some fantastic ones too. It's honestly highly underrated!
