My heart goes out to all my old colleagues & friends at BBC North West facing a ridiculous jobs cull in local news progs. We even have to lose one of the 2 excellent presenters Annabel Tiffin or Roger Johnson - worse still they have to apply for the one job. So cruel and utterly insane.

Very disappointed by first prog from Michael Portillo this evening @timesradio - was hoping for some of the spikiness evident on the much missed ‘This Week’ and on ‘The Moral Maze’. And some political insights. Like the station overall it was far too polite and lacking in energy.
