This week, our team is mentoring students at 1 of Africa`s premier military planning events-Combined Joint African Exercise-on critical aspects of peace operations. Sharing insights on #IHL is vital for ensuring the protection of civilians & those no longer taking part in warfare

The Missing Migrants Research Project Phase II is uncovering hidden truths of migration—stories of loss, resilience & hope. Supported by Australian Red Cross & Global Migration Lab & through our Restoring Family Links, we are gathering vital data to restore dignity & reconnect families.

The next generation of IHL lawyers is stepping up! This week in Harare, we’re teaming up with Raoul Wallenberg Institute & 5 universities for the national #Zim #IHLMootCourt. Students face real-world IHL challenges, with one team earning a spot at the All Africa Competition in Nairobi.

From 28–30 Oct, @ICRC_Pretoria & SA National Defence Force 🇿🇦 are co-hosting the 3rd Regional Peer2Peer Seminar in Pretoria, bringing together LOAC trainers from 9 Southern African countries to share expertise and strengthen cooperation in turning theoretical instruction into operational practice.

Red Cross volunteers respond to every crisis, supporting those displaced by conflict or disaster. Malawi Red Cross Society coordinates a network of 85,000 volunteers across the country, delivering humanitarian assistance to those in need. Elliot Nazonse leads this dedicated network.

Originally built for 12,000 people, Dzaleka Refugee Camp now hosts nearly 4 times that number & more arrive each day as conflicts rage on. For Malawi Red Cross Society, these aren’t just stats, but families. Grateful to Judith Fukizi & her team for easing their suffering. #HumanityFirst

Today we joined families from across the world for the 4th International Conference for Families of Missing Persons, hosted by the ICRC and Red Cross & Red Crescent partners.  We stand with these families still searching for answers.
