A great recap of all seasons from the "Denisova-Modern Human" romance series by Linda Ongaro and Emilia Huerta doi.org/10.1038/s41588…

In absolutely perfect timing for #ASHG24 I am so pleased to announce the labs second manuscript that was entirely conducted Human Technopole. Here we showcase the power of diffusion autoencoders for phenotyping time resolved cardiac MRIs in 70k subjects. medrxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…

Congratulations Eugenia D'Atanasio 🧬🦴 amazing work

Kicking off the new year, our paper by Leo Speidel et al. is out describing what to me is a breakthrough in ancient genomics. By using genealogies to study ancestry we can get much more resolution to study finer-scale history. We call this method Twigstats.

Congratulations Lehti Saag!

Our new paper is out! Congrats to the whole team, especially the staff and students Bournemouth Uni who have been excavating this incredible site for 15 years (with much more left to uncover!) Widespread matrilocality in Iron Age Britain - Up Na Mná :) rdcu.be/d6mb0

One week to the abstract submission deadline for SMBE 2025, Beijing 20-24 July! smbe2025.scimeeting.cn Anastasia Ignatieva and I are organising a symposium on popgen through time: using ARGs, aDNA, or otherwise to understand the evolutionary processes that shape genomes through time.

Great meeting yesterday with Francesco Lescai team and Alberto Riva team to discuss Nextflow and nf-core patterns in bioinformatics and future training initiatives to spread the use of workflows in Human Technopole and in the Italian community.

Happy faces for the Human Technopole guys after 3 days of pipelining and Nextflow coding and some approved contributions during our first nf-core Hackathon! Thanks Francesco Lescai for hosting the event in Pavia!

I'm excited to release what I've been cooking up the past few months at Arc Institute BINSEQ is a family of binary file formats for sequencing data built with paired records and parallel processing in mind with big performance gains (2x-40x) over gzip-fastq with similar storage
