A very comprehensive history and easily readable guide to all things cask ale dispense and a little on kegs too so you can tell the difference!

for CAMRA i wrote a brief history of beer dispense: from the harnessing of gravity to the invention of the beer engine to the rejection of the wonderfully named cask breathers 💯 illustrations by David Bailey 🍻 get it here: ow.ly/GB4N50T01f3

Enjoyed reading this with a coffee this morning. There's real skill in being able to take a complex (and let's face it, quite drab) subject and make it fun and accessible. A nice addition to the ever-growing library of L&D content.

one good thing about being back to work post holiday is i can spend the day tracking down the wines i met and liked whilst away so I can buy them in for the bar 😈

a trend on Instagram I find fascinating atm is the chic glamour attached to a finished dinner table—napkins stained, plates scraped & glasses emptied, consumption has occurred!—a sight to take satisfaction in if you’re not the one whose job it is to clean up afterwards
