"It's been hard for us to manage paying rent, utilities, and supporting our child" Geeta shares why she's demanding cmjuliewon.bsky.social support the #SecureJobsAct Her husband is scared to speak about his hours being cut bc he fears being fired in retaliation--a familiar story to many

This is the current reality for so many of our community members. The Secure Jobs Act would give workers the protection they need to speak up without the fear of losing their jobs. cmjuliewon.bsky.social #EndUnjustFirings

TY to CMs who voted NO to reject the Mayor's budget cuts -- & to all who fought to claw back funding for our communities! The fight for #CareNotCuts is far from over; we'll continue to fight against the Mayor's budgetary war on poor & working class people. More analysis to come.

Won has been slippery with "midyear" adjustments, etc. to claim the cuts have been restored (at least in her district). She’s on the committee of finance for FY2024 + budget negotiating team for FY2023 (not a casual bystander; she’s an architect of Adams austerity budgets).

A victory for the First Amendment, but unlikely to result in any significant reform of the NYPD since they keep getting bigger budgets every year and the burden of the $13 million settlement will be borne by taxpayers (since most police officers live outside NYC) ...

So, Councilmember Julie Won (D26) just up and decided to close the Queensbridge Park bike path, thereby punishing and endangering cyclists, rather than post a few 114th Pct officers to keep cars and mopeds out? This is disappointing.

🧵Regardless of the park lane, the fact the preceding greenway has gone completely unchecked throughout cmjuliewon.bsky.social’s term despite photos to her office, 311 reports, bringing it up to the community board, endless videos here- it has been completely overrun…
