The biggest thank you to Opus Coquitlam. Every year Opus picks a non-profit to donate a $1000. gift certificate to, this year it was us. Great news for our painters, a gift of top quality supplies for their new works. We love to paint and show our work so this is very meaningful

Sheldon Simons photo of the Gastown Steam Clock was chosen by the Community Living Society for it's annual Christmas Card. Sheldon is a very talented photographer. Have a look at some of the highlights of his recent work. He even found an owl yesterday in Friendship Garden.

Our last firings before Inclusion Art Show. Colleen Yip's Hallowe'en bowl is fabulously creepy, Kaori Gokita's bubble glazed plates have a touch of Autumn. Linda Raudonus Jade Leaf bowl is stunning. We always love James Lash's Winter Birch pieces.

PotteryWorks sends the biggest thanks to PosAbilities for our most successful show at the Roundhouse. Every year the Art Show Committee work tirelessly to produce this show. They have created the most important event for our population in the Lower Mainland, and we are grateful.

Recently, I went to Gambia Africa to visit the Saine family and had a wonderful reunion with them. I took with me some art supplies donated by staff at PotteryWorks, and gave a workshop in the Saine studio demonstrating how to bubble glaze. It was a very rewarding time with them

Our Colour Collective painters had a serious outbreak of Christmas spirit. They produced some great Holiday cards they had a lot of fun doing it. This is a hectic season, but the energy in our studio is electric and spirits high while we prepare for the rest of the Holiday Season

Dan Tell is clearly the star of this morning's kiln opening. Dan"s "Danville' pottery has been the star of our Holiday shows, so he's been very busy producing new work. Sheri Lynn Seitz butterfly plate is stunning and Linda Raudonus contributed the heart bowl and the lizard tray

James Lash is responsible for an astonishing variety of glaze designs. He has had many periods developing different designs. We thought that it was time that we highlighted James versatility. He's a naturally talented artist, who has made significant achievements over 25 years.

We have been proudly promoting the work of photographer Akim Zongo, for several years now. Akim is a talented man, with an incredible eye for composition and patience to capture the right moment. Here are some experimental works of Akim's, he's always reaching for something new.

Most of our major shows are over, the cheques have been cashed but there's no resting on their laurels here. It's about the love of the process. New subjects have been chosen and everyone is starting over, putting their best effort into making something beautiful out of an idea.

Linda Shier, although retired still comes to the studio weekly, producing her beautiful and popular work. Linda's fish themed works were a huge hit at the recent Inclusion Art Show. Linda is the heart of our studio, and when we see her smiling face, the whole day is brighter.

Our Colour Collective painters are having a lot of fun, expressing their Christmas Spirit, painting cards. They're taking a break from the focus and long hours at their easels and landscape paintings, to create what Christmas means to them. Have a look at these whimsical images.
