Did you know: Pitt's endowment assets exploded from 2020 to 2021, with just the increase--as reported in the FY21 Financial Report-- almost a billion and a half dollars. That's a big chunk of change! 2020 2021

FYI there's now a vaccine mandate at our workplace, starting December 6. Thanks are owed to many faculty and supporters who have pushed for this throughout the year.

We have received our official certification as a union from the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board. This makes it official! 🎉

Now that we're certified by the labor board, we have new rights. An example: unioized, we have legally enforceable rights to obtain information from the administration about anything affecting our terms and conditions of employment. A huge step forward! legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/Legis/L….

For tuition this year, in-state undergraduate and all graduate students will see a 2.5 percent increase; out-of-state undergrads will pay 4.5 percent more. This isn't going to faculty, who got a miniscule raise and hiked insurance premiums.

Getting details on the Student Workers of Columbia tentative agreement: includes a 30 percent raise for some workers, plus full recognition of the unit, which was something Columbia had been resisting pretty firmly.
