The remains of U.S. Army Air Force Sergeant Jack Hohlfeld were laid to rest on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024 in La Crosse, WI. He survived the Bataan Death March and was held in the Cabanatuan Japanese POW camp until his death on Dec. 26, 1942. Rest in Peace, Sir! #WeRememberthem

#GreatestGeneration: Kenneth D. Bailey joined the #USMarine Corps in 1935. In Sept 1942, he courageously led his unit into combat in the #SolomonIslands and then #Guadalcanal, where he was killed. He posthumously received the #MedalofHonor for his actions: facebook.com/PacificParksPE…

#ThrowbackThursday: #ElvisPresley at the #USSArizona Memorial, 1960s. On March 25, 1961, Elvis performed at a benefit concert to raise funds for the memorial. The concert raised $60,000 & led to many more donations. The #USSArizonaMemorial was dedicated on May 30, 1962.

Cheryle Stone was shocked to learn she had a 2nd cousin that died at #PearlHarbor. David Walker was one of 103 #USSCalifornia crewmen killed in the attack. His remains were identified last year. This week Cheryle will attend his burial at Arlington National Cemetery: wtae.com/article/navy-s…
