After intense deliberations, everything is ready for ##BESMOVE2024 tomorrow! Ryan Reisinger David Sims
Proud of my department and university! 🥰 School of Life Sciences, University of Essex ranked no. 1 in UK for some biological subjects and no. 7 overall for biology in the UK in the The Guardian rankings 🥳
What a fantastic set of talks at #BESMove2024 at University of Southampton! Such diversity of taxa, systems, movements and questions. Reminds me why I got into #Migration Ecology in the first place! Thanks to Ryan Reisinger for the invite 🙌 British Ecological Society

Day 1 of juvenile #bass sampling 🐟. Gorgeous day for it at Brightlingsea! We're building a chemical reference library so we can estimate estuary contribution rates to the adult pop in a few years' time. Also exploring links to #pollution & water quality. UK Research and Innovation University of Essex
My second PhD field expedition was a success, with stunning sunsets, plenty of juvenile fish (although not as many sole as expected 🤔), and amazing students. Thanks to Ben Ciotti, Devon & Severn IFCA , Biological and Marine Sciences and ARIES DTP for their support 🐟 Now, off on holidays !
Brilliant School of Life Sciences, University of Essex research away day. Particularly proud of my postdoc Alexia Dubuc for giving an outstanding talk on the effects of #hypoxia on fish across different systems 🐟 Next stop the #Baltic! Grateful to our collaborator St_Haase for sending our first #cod samples!
