🚨 We must all speak out: The lead author of this case series published today in The Lancet, Dr Khaled Alser, remains abducted by the Israeli military for insisting on not leaving his patients behind at Nasser Hospital

Not often an The Lancet paper has it's lead author appelated with "whereabouts currently unknown" as they've been abducted from their hospital on account of not abandoning their patients... thelancet.com/journals/lance…

Primary author of this case series published today in the Lancet is being detained and likely tortured by Israel like the around 300 healthcare workers detained to date with horrific reports of torture noted by human rights watch in this report this week: hrw.org/the-day-in-hum…

Can't make this up. Lead author of an article in The Lancet about trauma cases in Gaza's hospitals during the ongoing genocide is still arbitrarily imprisoned by Israel in one of its torture camps after being seized from Nasser Hospital in March for refusing to leave his patients

One of my proudest academic accomplishments, though I played a humble role under Dr Osaid Alser’s leadership. The Lancet saw the value in our telemedicine support for Gaza. And our first author is still held hostage in Ofer prison without charge or due process #FreeKhaled

179 Palestinian health workers are being held in secret detention by Israeli forces. We are witnessing the systematic destruction of the Palestinian health care system. We stand with them. Will the UK government and medical institutions? #FreeGazaMedics #StopArmingIsrael

This photo of Al-Shifa Hospital was taken on April 1st following Israel’s brutal siege on the hospital. Dozens of patients were killed. Many hospital staff were abducted and tortured. The hospital was bombed and destroyed. Hundreds of bodies – including children – were found in

The first author of this paper published in The Lancet this week has been detained (& most likely tortured) by Israeli forces. Where is our humanity? 💔 Article: thelancet.com/journals/lance…

#MustRead paper about Trauma care & teleconsultation during the war on Gaza. It is heartbreaking - the limited resources, the horrors. Also, I've never seen it before -the whereabouts of lead author UNKNOWN. Time for the medical community to speak up!! thelancet.com/journals/lance…

As anticipated, a further victim of the Tabeen School massacre who had severe burns covering more than 50% of their body passed away yesterday in Al- Ahli Arab Hospital in #Gaza, increasing the total number of martyrs because of extensive burn wounds in this massacre to over ten.
