Wow, I didn't know that the Dart analyzer is smart enough to do the type promotion for "p", even if "isNull" is neither constant nor final.

That’s something I would definitely not recommend doing. It’s literally just 4 lines of shell script calling the same programs, but in a useless wrapper.

Package authors, please don’t do it. Don’t hesitate to bump a major version when there’s a breaking change in your library. That’s what semver is all about. Major version is not about “we added a lot of new features”, it’s literally about “there are incompatible API changes”.
