The next 7+ days look very slow from a migration standpoint here in Ontario 😅 sustained southerly winds definitely aren’t ideal this time of year… but some birds will still be moving. South winds in the fall = less concentration of raptors/songbirds at usual migration sites

Weekend birding outlook for Ontario: The weather this weekend isn’t particularly interesting from a migration standpoint, with south/west winds overnight tonight and through Saturday. Very light winds on Saturday night may encourage larger numbers of birds to move though.

Clear skies and North winds for the next several days = ideal migration conditions! The heat wave and south winds are behind us, expect some more typical fall temperatures and an increase of late season migrants over the next week😎

The next two days look quite good for lakewatching in Lambton County!

Today was a great day for hawkwatching in southern Ontario, with multiple Golden Eagles and a large Turkey Vulture/buteo push (also Swainson’s Hawk at Hawk Cliff). Tomorrow looks like it could be quite good as well (strong North wind), it just hinges on what the rain does…
