In these last blessed nights & days, especially on the last Jumu’a of Ramadan, people have the custom of al-Wida’ (bidding farewell) to #Ramadan. And despite the fact that the mercies & blessings of this auspicious time will be departing…Let us not bid farewell to the masjid.

Bidding farewell to #Ramadan should not mean bidding farewell to the Qur’an. It should not mean bidding farewell to the good habits we have inculcated. It should not mean bidding farewell to charity & compassion towards others.

Instead of bidding farewell to #Ramadan we should say welcome (MARHABA) to the good habits we have inculcated. We should say MARHABA to a renewed connection with Allah Ta’ala. MARHABA to a love and attachment to Allah’s house.

اللهم لا تجعله آخر العهد من صيامنا O Allah! Do not make this the last meeting that we have of the fasting of this blessed month of Yours!

Night Before Eid al-Fitr: Laylatul Jāizah Whoever stands on the nights of Eid, seeking reward from Allah, his heart will not die on the Day when hearts will die.” (Ibn Majah) مَنْ قَامَ لَيْلَتَيِ الْعِيدَيْنِ مُحْتَسِبًا لَمْ يَمُتْ قَلْبُهُ يَوْمَ تَمُوتُ الْقُلُوبُ

This night is known as “Laylatul Jāizah” (The night of reward). Therefore, it is desirable to spend the night engaged in worshipping Allah Ta’ala (Fatawa Mahmudiyyah)

Ibn Rajab رح has cited Imam Shafi’i رح to have said, “I have heard that du’as are accepted by Allah on five nights: 1) The night of Jumu’ah, 2) *Night of Eid al-Fitr* 3) Night of Eid al-Adha 4) The first night of Rajab 5) The middle (15th) night of Sha’ban” [Lataiful Ma’arif]
