I continue to find it bizarre that people can vote for Trump while also voting to re-elect a senator who has repeatedly voted to impeach Trump, but that happened many times last night.

Watching Gen Z men veer right hits different for Millennials. We lived through Columbine, 9/11, the Iraq War, 2008 crash, 2016 election, covid, abortion bans, & now this. We watched institutions repeatedly fail us while older generations selfishly protected the status quo. 🧵1/

I know it sounds flippant but I mean it sincerely and I actually think it's pretty obvious if you're being honest with yourself but a lot of people undoubtedly came out to vote for Trump in huge numbers because he's 1) charismatic, 2) controversial and 3) a celebrity. So for the

The challenge, after a loss, is to learn something *new.* Most people aren't doing that right now. They're taking in information and trying to fit that within their prevailing world view. The NEW thing I'm learning is: People do not and will not vote for harm mitigation...

i don't think all academics are driven by trauma. but academia attracts ppl who experienced school as a central space of validation, maybe the only place they were ever praised/"seen." also, academic accomplishments are wielded to counter parental neglect & societal debasement.

A petty way Biden could slow Trump's first 100 days would be issuing an executive order that EOs have to be typed out by the president themself with witnesses but no help. Trump would obviously reverse it right away, but to do so he'd have to spend a few hours on microsoft word

Beshear knows intuitively what so few Dems grasp. You can take political decisions that are politically controversial, and even SHOULD, if it fits in your value set. Voters prefer candidates who are genuine and are more willing to forgive positions than lack of sincerity.
