reading Ashley Hickson-Lovence's verse-novel for a thing I'm writing, and it's electrifying, bringing together poetry and rap. It's something fresh, original and very special. (Thanks to Nina Douglas🌿 for this).

watched this clip about a month ago and cried my lamps out

it was recorded just after her Nobel Prize win, at the height of her literary fame, and look how pleased she is to be told by somebody that her work means something to them
