Where to start….! Wonder if there is any female coach who hasn’t faced any of these in the last year? Male privilege, unconscious bias, logistical concerns based on gender, misogynistic aggression against them? Maybe focus on these areas rather than women?

Learning so many things this year, even after 18 years of coaching jumps. Always some new challenge. Pleased with progress made in steadily returning scottishathletics U17 TJ record holder eoh to jumping after major knee and back surgery and US degree. All good so far.

Proud of the boys today. Athletics the second sport for both. Rugby for Louis. Rory been signed for HIBS. Gold in U20 LJ. Bronze in U15 100m. But frankly, proud of myself as coach for finding a way for both to continue to excel in scottishathletics champs.

Extremely proud that BOTH of the scottishathletics horizontal jumps places for the Manchester International went to athletes in my jumps group. It's a massive achievement and I am proud! Well done to all other coaches of athletes selected too!

Well, Saturday's scottishathletics champs went well! 15m 93 for the big man Henry Clarkson - only one Scot has ever jumped further to win - 37 years ago!! And rising U17 star Matilda leapt past the 12m mark to 12m 08! Best legal U17 outdoor jump in UK in 2024.

Very much enjoyed taking GB Rugby Sevens player @mattdavidson5 for sprint work over the summer. Been a great experience to work with a different sport and to articulate the rationale for all content of every session. Fabby athlete to work with.
