After Marquette ties it up, Irish finally convert on an early one. Jeffrey dodge draws a slide, Brock Behrman puts it away on the doorstep after a few nice fakes on crease.

First man up of the year is a success — even if it was just a 30 second technical. Great feed from Behrman to the cutting Luke Miller for his second of the day.

Some real impressive dodges this quarter. Maheras splits down the alley, then switches back right to finish a low angle shot before the slide lands. 7-4 Irish with just under 5 to go in Q2.

And after the timeout — Luke Miller dodges from X for his second of the day (correcting earlier tweet — i should have fact checked these commentators!). Irish now up 8-4.

Marquette adds a couple before halftime, so it’s 8-6 Irish. Marquette is getting a bit more out of their goalie than ND, and ND is certainly letting Marquette hang around.

Frustrating 3rd quarter — some low probability goals from Marquette keep them in it. Irish do put a few in at the end of the 3rd to get a little breathing room — now 12-9 at the end of Q3.

Man up has been the sharpest unit so far today. Another quick goal — this time it is Josh Yago, the impact transfer from Air Force. 13-9, Irish lead with 12 minutes to go.

Marquette scores first here in the 4th quarter — back cut during a dodge from X. A little sloppy here. ND possesses with 8:22 left in the game.

Marquette comes out of the timeout with a zone look — and Matt Jeffrey beats it with a nice face dodge. Now 14-10 Irish, with Marquette possessing.

Irish close this one out, winning 16-11. A lot to clean up from this one, particularly avoidable turnovers and defensive sharpness. At the same time, it’s game 1. Bellarmine up next.

Quicker start today for the Irish — already up 8-0. Teddy Lally adds one with a nice face dodge from up top and finishes down the alley. Just under 5 minutes left here in Q1.

Irish finish the first quarter up 10-0. While there is a bit of a disparity in talent for this one, nice to see a quick start given last week.

Irish continue to generate great looks, a few less goals given some nice saved by Bellarmine's (new) Goalie, who came in after Q1. Irish not really changing levels on a lot of their shots, so making it a bit easier for Bellarmine. Behrman puts one in right as H1 ends; its 16-1.

Matt Jeffrey gets the scoring going with a sweet sweep dodge and finishes with the lefty (bar down) on the run. Cheers! 1-0 Irish.
