Being in nature is good for your mental and physical health. If you're able/allowed, try exploring your local, walkable green spaces for your #COVexercise. It could be a good time to see more wildlife close to home than you normally would. theconversation.com/where-the-wild…

Connection to biodiverse nature can keep people healthier. Wouldn't it be great if people were able to socially distance while getting paid to plant some trees, landscape a block of verges, maintain small urban bushlands, 'birdscape' our pocket parks.... smh.com.au/politics/feder…

"there’s an increasing awareness of the importance of green spaces and how people need them within the urban environment"... How do we convert increased community literacy of the importance of green space into metro-scale changes? domain.com.au/news/green-spa…

Big question: is lockdown helping wildlife to thrive this year, or am I just paying more attention and noticing the stunning flowers and insects all around me? Either way it’s life-changing. We have to take better care of this stuff. It’s what takes care of us. #30dayswild

As part of the new $5 million investment by the NSW Government to bring 180,000 trees to Greater Sydney, we’re partnering with @GreeningAust to identify schools with low canopy cover and high exposure to heat stress to support targeted planting.

Do you ever see flying-foxes feeding in your yard or street? Love 'em or loathe 'em, your observations can help us manage them better. Use the CleanAir&UrbanLandsc Urban Wildlife App to let us know where you see flying-foxes + what they're munching on this summer nespurban.edu.au/platforms/caul…

How is it that cities in Australia continue to lose vegetation despite commitments to greening at all levels of government?? We need to get real about stopping tree clearing and start valuing urban veg as an asset @pgsincers CleanAir&UrbanLandsc @RMIT_CUR abc.net.au/news/2021-03-1…

The bird communities of the Mount Lofty Ranges are in serious decline, as shown by this 20 year study Drew Tyre and I started in 1999. The data is unequivocal, large scale restoration and fine scale management is required now. Congratulations to NCSSA for carrying the baton.

What a lot of fun going to speed planting for singles with Landcare ACT @GreeningAust and Environ Plan ACT. I didn’t participate in the ‘dating’ (my partner wouldn’t have been happy) but lots of great people having fun

Few people understand the Cumberland Plain like Peter Ridgeway. He walked it North to South in 2019. His account tells a beautiful but sad story of it's history, current state and likely future. cumberlandplain.com/product/a-wide…

Size, biodiversity, climate, water and social impact should all be factors when building and maintaining urban green space. This article explains it beautifully... popsci.com/environment/su…
