Virginia is making major clean water investments in the Chesapeake Bay. We've now completed the largest oyster restoration project in the country, in the Piankatank and Great Wicomico Rivers. I grew up on the water, and it's great to see all this hard work paying off!

The General Assembly has put in the work to keep the Chesapeake Bay clean, upgrade clean water infrastructure, and reduce pollution. This proposal from Governor Glenn Youngkin will continue that mission by taking further steps to protect our environment.

Today, I announced plans to conserve cultural and natural resources across Virginia. It's a way to tell a more inclusive and accurate story of the past.

My budget proposal includes $10 million to conserve historic landmarks of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color—the first of its kind—and $12 million to acquire culturally significant land for Virginia’s Tribal Nations.
