Facilitating conference 3 for our second year ECTs today. Our Professional Development focus sparked a lot of discussion around what this means for them and how it might impact pupil outcomes. Trinity Institute of Education Calderdale & Kirklees Teaching School Hub

This Primary SKTM focus led us to explore fractions. I love the fact that this work group allows such an in depth focus. Teachers are such busy people so I appreciate dedicated time to develop both their subject and pedagogical knowledge. NCETM West Yorkshire Maths Hub

This is how happy I was to be presenting for West Yorkshire Maths Hub at The Leeds Maths Conference yesterday and meeting lots of wonderful teachers. I even had time to go and watch thought provoking sessions from Dr Debbie Morgan CBE, Mike Askew and Yorkshire Steve.

One of the benefits of bespoke West Yorkshire Maths Hub sessions is collaboration and a chance to network with teachers from other schools who are focused on the same things. Today the focus was Fluency.

As a student teacher I was also a very young mum with a newborn son. Juggling studies and parenting was such a challenge at the time. Being back in my old uni lecturing for the day was such a great feeling. I’ve come a long way in those 15years.
