Lifelong Naperville resident Hannah Ditzler Alspaugh, who was born in 1848 & passed away in 1938, is considered by many to be Naperville’s first historian. She was a teacher at Naper Academy and a librarian at Nichols Library. This image is a triptych of fruit painted by Hannah.

Do you recognize this corner of downtown Naperville? This is an image of downtown Naperville taken in the late 1960s or early 1970s. Oswald's Pharmacy, pictured here, is still in Naperville today, located at 88 W. Gartner Rd. It has been in business since 1875!

It's almost spooky season! This vintage (likely made before 1960) jack-o’-lantern with jointed arms and legs was a Halloween decoration used by a Naperville family. It was made by the Beistle Company, one of the largest manufacturers of Halloween decorations in the United States.
