My wonderful co-author Geetika Nagpal is on the market and studies a critical aspect of the housing debate ! Her JMP shows that relaxing height constraints leads to investments in shared amenities and smaller units size, resulting in lower income households accessing housing!
In her JMP, Geetika (Geetika Nagpal) studies the effects of relaxing building height constraints in Mumbai, India. Using granular housing data and a structural model, she shows how increasing heights may actually make apartments smaller, attracting more lower-income households.
