A positive attitude gives you power over your circumstances instead of your circumstances having power over you.

Your words & actions as a parent affect their developing self-esteem more than anything else. Praising accomplishments, however small, will make them feel proud; letting kids do things independently will make them feel capable & strong.

The expressions of appreciation pouring in over the day have been overwhelming. I am so grateful for having had the opportunity to join the UN as an intern in 1998 and for having been lucky enough to forge deep bonds with beautiful Naija! This is not good bye but a see you soon

We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.

Women should not undervalue their domestic achievements as they strive to expand their options & prospects. Women need to stop downplaying the "just" in "just a housewife" & instead take satisfaction in having dedicated their lives to their family & home.
