#GeneralElection2024 First time I have been in a long queue to vote. It was great to see! Will be very interested in the turnout figures. Not seen many campaign posters around here so was pleasantly surprised to see the queue.

If turnout is around 57% and Labour got around 35% of the vote, that means barely one in five eligible voters actually cast a vote for the Labour Party. 20% of the electorate delivers a 160 seat landslide?? The first past the post system is an anti-democratic joke. Time for PR.

The 50% hike to bus fares just announced by Sir Keir Starmer is the equivalent of a 4% hike in Income Tax for a minimum wage worker. Make no mistake, it adds £480 to the commuter bill for a worker per year. A vicious attack on those with least.
