Thousands and thousands of children had their enamel polished with chemicals today to support a dental insurance jobs program… thank you for your attention to this. Zero prevention benefit beyond preventing the end of useless procedures in dentistry.

It amazes me how the American public believes that as long as they brush once or twice a day they are absolved of their poor oral health behaviors🤣🤣🤣

As a patient it behooves you to understand this so you can be on a level playing field. Adults should rarely get cavities as the enamel gets harder throughout life making cavities harder to develop. Adults who have their teeth drilled keep needing those repairs repaired. Don’t

If a fluoride treatment is out of pocket expense, parents say no. If the insurer/employer is paying then parents accept the treatment. People have no value system anymore due to insurance, they have been totally confused and corrupted by this idea that someone else is paying…

This is the most important sea change of understanding that the dental profession faces. We can’t cut the problem away cause it just comes back. We can’t clean the problem off cause it just comes back. Why does it come back? Cause it’s evolved to be there. Cause it’s evolved to

This is a little out of my lane for procedure but the insurers only job is to pay the fking claim and stop denying. If the insurer wants a role then just verify the presence of deposits subgingival and then GTFOW and pay the claims.

I buy this article. It is the Wild West for sure. Patients are really on their own as to whether professionals act ethically. Deep cleanings are for sure a hoax unless the X-rays show deposits on the roots. Ask to be shown where on the X-rays there is calculus.

This company Dentaquest was sold for 2.5B to sunlife, which is mind boggling because all DQ does is skim fees. Well I guess it’s starting to be a bad deal… sorry Canada I could have warned you and in fact I did somewhere in my feed. tdmr.org/sun-life-blame…

Another misguided person who thinks bacteria are causing secondary decay🤯🤯🤯 This is not from bacteria this is from the polymer shrinking away from the walls… it’s so hard to get this profession to move away from this bacteria have little teeth and eat your teeth concept…

If people want to see the early stages of a cavity then this is it. The enamel is demineralizing below where the contact was with the primary molar that fell out. The mom texted me this and then I checked the last X-rays to make sure it’s on the surface only.

Biden admin allowed the sale of Dentaquest, an American Medicaid dental administrator, they literally push paper, send payments, deny payments, basically nonsense, for 2.5B to a Canadian Insurer, Sunlife. Why would Canadian pensioners want to own a company that floats US taxpayer

Fluoride 101 The effect is topical not from ingestion. Fluoride is merely a magnet that picks up calcium from the saliva and deposits the Ca to the enamel. If you ingest too much of anything it can have side effects. Ingesting small amounts from toothpaste is fine…

This is an AI hustle. People don’t like showing up for appointments, practice loses revenues when that occurs. This machine is going to be quite expensive and if patients complain about the cost now, how is this going to lower the cost? I’m sure they’ll come up with some bullshit

This isn’t a good omen for the profession where tuitions are crazy for four years of education that really could be three…

Parent texts me Saturday night at 10p that their 1yo got caught in their pack n play and the netting got entangled with the four lower incisors, luxating them out of their sockets. They frantically went to the ER. The ER had no dentist on staff and said to the parents the child

Don’t ask a dentist if they would restore/fill incipient decay Ask a dentist if they would restore/fill incipient decay in their mother’s mouth… This would be unethical to treat. Way too many do…
