A History teacher's holiday of dreams on the D-Day beaches 🙌

When my Grandad landed on D-Day, he collected postcards and marked on them what had happened. We are visiting that exact area on holiday (totally by coincidence) and it's wonderful to be able to match them to their real locations! An emotional experience. #dday80

I've been to the Bayeux Tapestry twice this week (🤓), and it's really annoyed me that the commentary tells us that this is Harold being shot in the eye and killed. Surely the public should be told the latest historiography?

I've been absent on here of late after very suddenly losing my Dad during the first week of this term. It's been an incredibly hard time for our family, but today we learned that we're having a baby boy in April and finally shared the news with his big brother and sister! 🌟
