I honestly think that most people, including our Minister of Education, don’t realize that extracurricular activities including, clubs, sports, proms, etc. are entirely voluntary services provided by school staff for free.

Canada actually calls its healthcare system “universal” but does not cover: 🦷 dental care 💊 medications 👁️ eye care 🏡 comprehensive home care ♿ assistive devices 💪🏽 physiotherapy 🧠 psychotherapy Free & equitable healthcare should be a human right for all.

Imagine if the Ontario government said: we aren’t mandating seat belts, but we encourage you to wear one anyways. If this sounds absurd for seat belts…why do we allow this for masking, during the 6th wave when cases & hospitalizations are rising?

There is no ‘teacher shortage’. There are thousands of qualified experiences teachers who are no longer teaching. There’s a shortage of respect and proper compensation for teachers allowing them to actually teach.

By the way, privatizing our healthcare system would worsen the health worker shortages in our public system. It would divert public dollars towards corporate profits. And it would force people to pay for healthcare when many can't even afford food or rent. Please...remember that.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if CUPE workers are essential to keeping schools open and kids in class…then they are also essential enough to receive a decent wage. I urge you: Support CUPE workers…and stand against starvation wages everywhere. #IStandWithCUPE
