What a lovely afternoon in Year 2. After spending the half term finding out about some of the ways Christians use the church, we finished off by acting out a Christian wedding ceremony. Everyone came in dressed for the occasion and we had a wonderful wedding. Well done Year 2.

To finish our RE unit on how Christians use the church, today we had our Year 2 wedding role play. We have learnt that, for Christians, a wedding is about love and God watching over the marriage. We know that there are hymns, prayers, Bible readings and vows at a church wedding.

The children dressed up for this special occasion and really enjoyed the serious and important ceremony, followed by the fun and exciting celebration (lots of dancing at the wedding reception). It was a beautiful wedding!

We'd also like to thank George and James' Mum for sending in some beautiful flowers from the garden to make our wedding even more beautiful.

Year 1 RE: Multi-faith. Today, in our work on belonging, we learned a bit about Christianity. We know that Christians believe in one God, that they believe Jesus was the Son of God and that some Christians celebrate the festivals of Christmas and Easter.

Year 6 RE: Islam. Today we have been learning about the importance of the prophets within Islam, building on our knowledge of Muhammed (PBUH) from Year 5. We know that some of these prophets are also important in Judaism and Christianity and they all taught belief in one God.
