#HappyDiwali and thank you to my wonderful neighbours for the beautiful light shows around our block! The spiritual victory of light over darkness seems especially poignant this year, doesn't it?

Yesterday the staff St. Vincent de Paul played against the SVDP baseball teams in a friendly game. There were lots of laughs and even a few great plays by both teams. It was a great way to bring our community together and enjoy our beautiful October weather! WCDSB Athletics

From enjoying the beautiful weather, to showing our learning of ecosystems, then getting dramatic all over the classroom, the 7/8s St. Vincent de Paul have been filling their days with learning and growth. Proud of their hard work and grit!!

It is all about growth and these girls show it in spades. I'm so proud to be one of their coaches. And coaching alongside some wonderful educators is just the cherry on top of this delicious sundae.

Working towards filming our commercials! We worked on using persuasive words and phrases, camera angles, advertising techniques, and more! These huge projects allow for so much creativity and exploration and of media. Here are some text samples that made me giggle.

Making math real! Using our knowledge of 2 variable data, averages, etc., to build fantasy hockey teams. Is there a relationship between NHL skaters' points and penalty minutes? Can we build a team with high points and penalty minutes, or a close ratio? We shall see! St. Vincent de Paul
