The iridescent colours of the resident peacock. He was taking refuge outside the King's door. The back door to the house is the same door used by Charles II when he sought refuge here after his defeat at the Battle of Worcester in 1651.

From 13th March, in line with government guidance we will be opening our outdoor spaces for local visitors to have access for walks. Booking is essential & tickets will be released on Friday 5th March. Please visit our website from that date to book & to view our opening days.

Thanks to everyone who’s booked to visit us, we still have tickets available to book through our website. Our Easter trail will be running daily from this Friday onwards for as long as stocks last. The trail can be purchased directly from us on the day of your booked visit.

From the 17th May we are reopening the house to visitors. Tickets for visits week commencing 17th May will be released tomorrow. Please note tickets give access to the site and outdoor spaces. Access to the house is arranged on the day of your visit and cannot be pre-booked.

With the clocks going forward it means that we have moved to our summer opening hours. The site will be open until 5pm, our tearoom opens until 4:30pm and last entry to the hall is at 4:00pm. We will be open Friday - Monday each week, then open 7 days during school holidays.
