Curiosity lifts his gaze from the concrete path and sends it flickering towards the blonde on the opposite end of the bench, a brow lifted. 〝 Writing anything interesting? 〞

Amused, his lips would faintly shape into a grin. A shrug would be given, body shifting to turn towards her slightly in order to show she had his attention. 〝 Try me. 〞

Now /this/ catches his interest, gaze slowly lowering from the woman's visage towards the notebook within her grasp. 〝 . . howling, huh? Go on, then. . was it a dog, perhaps?〞

For reasons that were obvious only to himself, of course he held as much interest as he did— she didn't have to know that, however. 〝 A wolf, you say . . well, they do have a tendency to howl. Is that /not/ common? 〞

He snorts, his amusement yet to leave as he shakes his head. He knows the exact answer to all this, but that in no way meant he would simply let that information slip. 〝 Alright, then. Explain it all to me. 〞

There were probably better things Cass could be doing rather than pushing for the woman to share her thoughts— thoughts that he could answer for himself, and yet, here he was; 〝 No, by all means— i'm certain i've heard crazier. 〞

〝 A /werewolf/, 〞he repeats, though he is sure the absence of any surprise within his tone gives away the fact he'd expected such a response. 〝 I'm not laughing. Curious, perhaps. . but no more than so. 〞

He reclines slightly in the seat, one arm draping over the back of it as the corner of his mouth lifts. He's easily picked up on her habit of staring, but he can't say he minds it too much. 〝 Cassander. Call me Cass, or not. Either works. 〞

〝 I think i'll call you Kat, 〞he hums, then allows his gaze to trail off elsewhere for a moment. He is calm and she is no threat, thus he finds there to be no need to keep an eye on her the entire time. 〝 Is that fine? 〞

A shrug given in response, his eyes linger ahead a moment longer before returning to the blonde. 〝 I don't see why not. I can't prove to you that you're wrong, 〞he points out, then offers a light grin. 〝 Who am I to judge, really? 〞

〝 Ah, don't worry. 〞 His hand lifts, making a vague gesture to assure her. He is well aware that encouraging this is likely not the wisest idea, but he supposes it doesn't matter too much. 〝 There's nothing wrong with believing in things, you know. And i'm not about to »

« tell you it's not true. It could be. I mean. . who knows, right? 〞 Well, /he/ knows.

Humming lazily, he nods towards her. His grin has softened, but remains there nonetheless. He could have followed suit of all others and told her the same thing, but he isn't so harsh to do that, especially knowing the truth. 〝 Perhaps I am not so closed-minded as others. 〞

〝 Coffee sounds delightful. 〞 Another nod given then, he accepted the offer. It wasn't often he was invited to coffee, if ever at all, but he saw no harm. 〝 Just lead the way. 〞

〝 A while now, 〞he answers as he matches her pace, walking alongside her. His hands were in his pockets, gaze wandering. 〝 A few years, perhaps. 〞

〝 Indeed, 〞he agrees. In truth, he had come here only recently— less than a few years like he'd said. For the most part, he likes to roam. He also doesn't have much of a taste for coffee, but he doesn't /hate/ it either. 〝 Are you from here? 〞
