We had 87 Gator runners participate in the Bayridge Road Race on Friday! Lots of fun was had by all. We were lucky to have such beautiful weather! Thanks Bayridge SS for organizing ☀️🏃🏾‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️

School looked a little different last Tuesday! We got to experience what school would have been like in a one room schoolhouse in the 1800s at the Frontenac County Schools Museum Always a favourite field trip. Such great experiential and hands-on learning! 🏫 ✍️ 📖

Students also loved our picnic lunch and recess in the Barriefield Rock Garden! 🪨🌸🌳 A true hidden gem of Kingston!

Students designed bridges, selected & purchased materials at our class store, & ultimately built their bridges. 🌉 Our winning bridge held over 3 kg 🥇🏆😮 This team reinforced the cardboard with wooden skewers. Bravo to all the students on their innovation and teamwork!

Students have been hard at work on our plant book! They are learning how to use an English-French dictionary & word predictor to help them type up their good copies. I just finished drawing the cover for our book. A reminder to parents : Tuesday is the last day to preorder!🌲🌱🌸

Over a third of our Gator Track and Field team qualified for the District Finals today. It was a scorcher of a day but the kids ran their hardest and jumped their best notwithstanding the heat. So proud of them! 🐊😎

Our class books arrived & they look awesome! Each student researched & wrote about a different plant. They learned how to use tools such as word predictor & an English-French dictionary. They are so excited & proud of their book! Thanks Studentreasures 📕🪷🌵🌷🌻🌲🌱🌿🌳🍒🌹

We have been so busy these past few weeks. I’m finally getting around to sharing some pictures from our great day at Upper Canada Village. We had read a book about a setter village & seeing one in person really brought our learning to life! So many cute animals too 🐂🐴🐄🐖🐓

We kicked off our final 2 weeks of school with a visit from Grandma Judi, who shared her Anishinaabe culture with us through storytelling and music. The kids were very engaged. Miigwech Judi for visiting our school & thank you to Loyalist Township for providing this opportunity to students

On Tuesday, we had a virtual workshop with Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre and learned about things we can do to help take care of wildlife in our communities and the important work they do to rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife. Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre 🦝🐢🦇🦆

Yesterday was tie-dye day! I’m looking forward to seeing how everyone’s shirts turned out next Wednesday when we wear them for our picnic. 🧺

Today was rainbow day! We made multicolour bracelets - who knew that my container of beads from my childhood I hadn’t opened in 10+ years would find such a good use! 🌈

A day to celebrate and learn about the diversity of sovereign Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island. We celebrate First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people's histories and futures, cultures, languages, and ingenuities existing since time immemorial.

Students did a wonderful job in their performances of “Une Graine Grandit” (A Seed Grows) today. They spoke so well in French and worked collaboratively as a group to put this performance together in two weeks. Bravo, les amis! 🌱🌸☀️🌧️🌎 So proud of them!

Yesterday was our board games afternoon. Students had fun playing a variety of board games with different peers, including those they brought from home.

Today was our end-of-year field trip to the Culligan Water Park. Students had a blast playing in the pool and at the park! 💦 🏊🏻‍♀️ 🏊‍♂️

Some of our bean plants reached the final stage of the plant life cycle on the last day of school: the beautiful purple flowers have transformed into beans! Just like their plants, these kids have grown so much this year and it’s been wonderful being a part of their journey 🫘🌱
