The desire for therapy assumes that a young person can easily open up to a stranger, that they can put their thoughts and feelings into words, and that they have a coherent sense of their life story. Relationships in school and the community can be far more natural and powerful.

Strong relationships in the classroom reduce the need for rigid rules. It becomes more about expectations, procedures, and routines, where the students feel valued and empowered to contribute positively to the learning environment.
